Terms and Conditions for Rental

Definitions used in the following terms & conditions. 

1:    The owners/agents - or their authorised representative

2:   The client - the person signing the booking form.

Reservations should be made in writing by returning the booking form together with the deposit. Please call, email or check our website for availability.

Payment Schedule : 

- 25% of total cost as non-refundable deposit when booking. 
- Balance of total booking cost + £100/ 120€ Damage Deposit, 8 weeks before arrival.

Reservations made within 8 weeks of arrival date should be paid in full at time of booking.

Payment by bank transfer should be made to our bank account , details on request.

Sterling cheques should be made payable to S McClure and sent to: Le Prince Noir, 24500 Fonroque , France .

On receipt of the client’s completed booking form and deposit, a confirmation of booking and receipt will be issued.

Alterations to original booking (subject to availability) should be made in writing and will be subject to a £15 administration charge. If alterations are made 0-56 days before arrival and cannot be catered for the owners/agents reserve the right to enforce the cancellation fee as detailed below.

Cancellation by client – this should be made in writing to the owners/agents

Cancellation charges – from the date of receipt of the client’s cancellation letter.

The 25% deposit is non-refundable.

In the event of cancellation less than 56 days before the arrival date ( after having paid the balance of your holiday) we will refund 100% of the Damage Deposit. 50% of the cost of your holiday will be refunded, if we are able to re-let the accommodation at the full price.

Cancellation by owners/agents – if for any reason the owners/agents are obliged to cancel the client’s booking all monies will be refunded in full. This is the limit of the owner’s/agent’s liability.

Heating – where applicable the boiler will be set & timed for you. Refer to the owner/agent for any adjustments required.

Heating Charges – if applicable costs and payment arrangements will be agreed with client beforehand.

Hot Water – unlimited hot water is available at all times. Please do not attempt to adjust the boiler by yourself. Always refer to the owner/agent for any adjustments.

Beds & Bedding - ( see description of facilities)

Linen – Bed linen & bath towels, & pool towels are provided in the accommodation.

Laundry Facilities – washing machines etc. are as described in the descriptions of facilities.

Cleaning – equipment is provided. The client is responsible for leaving the accommodation clean & tidy. This includes washing up, cleaning the oven, barbecue, basin, sink, baths showers wcs., floors, folding bedding, returning all furniture to its original position.

 Occupancy – the maximum occupancy per gîte must not be exceeded. Babies and young children should be included when stating numbers in party.

Swimming Pool – 10m x 5m open from May to October. Cleaning and maintenance of pool included in rental rates. No unauthorised entry to the pump/filtration area. To comply with French regulations the pool is fitted with an alarm, however children must be supervised at all times.

Pets – We allow pets for an additional charge. Owners are fully responsible for any damage or mess caused by their animal. We have 2 cats ourselves, please contact us if you require further information.

Smoking – smoking is not permitted in the gîtes.

Parking – free on-site parking.

Caravans/tents – are prohibited in the grounds.

Changeovers – the changeover day is Saturday.

Arrival Time – not before 4.00pm

Departure time – by 10.00 am at the latest

Keys – leave in the door on departure or hand to owner/agent

Damage Deposit - £100/ 120€ payable with final balance, 8 weeks before arrival. The damage deposit will be returned to you minus any deductions within 2 weeks of departure.

Inventory – please check the inventory on arrival and notify the owner/agent immediately of any omissions. Similarly, record the day/time of any breakages/damage during your stay and notify the owner/agent.

Insurance – the client should take out adequate holiday insurance to cover for any personal liability incurred with respect to major damage to property or pool caused by the client or any member of his/her party.

Disclaimer – neither the owners nor their agents can accept any responsibility whatsoever for any injury or damage to clients or any member of their party or any of their property whilst using the gîtes, grounds, car park or pool.

Disputes – in the event of any disputes that cannot be resolved between the client(s) and the owners/agents the courts of France shall have jurisdiction.

Acceptance of Terms – completing the booking form implies knowledge and acceptance of these terms and conditions.

Party leader – the person signing the booking form is deemed to be the party leader and is responsible for all members of his/her party adhering to these terms and conditions.
